8U-12U Stars Teams

Try out for 2024-2025 Stars teams Sept. 7 and Sept. 14 at Pleasant Playground:

• 9U: 1:30-3:00 p.m.
• 10U: Sept 7 @ 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.
• 10U: Sept 14 @ 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
• 11U: 5:00-6:30 p.m.
• 12U: 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Note: 8U Stars tryouts will be held in spring 2025.

How to register:

Send an email with the player’s name and birth date to mtairystars@gmail.com prior to the first tryout. (There is no fee to participate in tryout sessions.)

2025 Team Levels by Birthdates

The date ranges below determine a player’s eligibility to try out and participate. Age ranges are strictly enforced. Copies of players’ birth certificates must be available when requested by tournaments.

• 8 year-olds (8U)*:    May 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017
• 9 year-olds (9U):      May 1, 2015 – April 30, 2016
• 10 year-olds (10U):  May 1, 2014 – April 30, 2015
• 11 year-olds (11U):  May 1, 2013 – April 30, 2014
• 12 year-olds (12U):  May 1, 2012 – April 30, 2013

Note: A registration fee is only due if a player is offered and accepts a roster spot on a Stars team. No player will be excluded from a Stars team due to a family's inability to pay fees.

Eligibility

1. All players are subject to the age-range eligibility requirements above.
2. All players must participate in the Mt. Airy Baseball spring in-house league.
3. All players interested in joining a Stars team roster must participate in at least one tryout. We strongly recommend participating in both tryout sessions.
4. All players must be available for at least three weekend tournaments between May and July, as scheduled by the team's coach.

Any additional instructions or modifications will be provided to registrants by Stars coaches.  Participants must try out each year. Roster spots are not guaranteed for any player based on a prior season’s performance.

What are Stars teams?

Mt. Airy Baseball Stars teams provide committed, competitive players with a higher level of baseball instruction and an opportunity to experience a higher level of competition.

Our Stars teams play in 3 to 4 summer tournaments taking place between Memorial weekend and the end of July. (Availability and participation during that period remains the league-mandated requirement for player participation.) Some teams extend their practices and games to additional seasons or nearly year-round. Optional Stars Winter Clinics are offered to rostered players (not included in team registration fee).
